Facilities Technician

Permanent contract, Monday - Friday
The primary role of a Facilities Technician is to optimize property conditions, service & standards whilst keeping a safe working environment for all on site. The Facilities Technician will maintain a high level of quality, providing maximum satisfaction to all stakeholders, providing 1st fix response to fault finding with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry & decorating skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Comply with organisational safety, policies and procedures and identify hazards and reduce them
- Carry out repairs to the fabric of a building, for example repairs to walls, doors, door frames, skirting boards or plaster damage to internal walls
- Understand and maintain plumbing and drainage systems, for example repairs to WC systems, leaking taps or water testing and unblocking drains
- Maintain high levels of water hygiene within a building
- Basic electrical competencies, for example replacing damaged sockets, plugs, lighting and fuses.
- Demonstrate and implement energy, environment and sustainable practices
- Maintain grounds and external fabrication of a building, such as drainage and guttering
- The safe use of hand tools, for example screwdrivers, power drills, pliers, paper strippers and a variety other tools used in plumbing and carpentry
- Demonstrate and understand the importance of the control of resources and stock
- Understand and demonstrate the principles of Planned Preventative Maintenance
- Prepare for refurbishment or deep clean of equipment and surfaces
- Carry out repairs and reactive maintenance
- Record and report information accurately either internally or externally
- Support and prepare any office moves or individual requirements
- Support the quality team in completing any low level pest proofing requirements
- Supporting change within the business to ensure continuously improved performance.
- Completing tasks and ensure they are 'right first time.
- Delivering non-negotiable standards across areas of responsibility
- NVQ in Plumbing preferred but not essential
- General building competencies such as Electrical, carpentry, painting & decorating
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
