Factory Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a position as Factory Manager. The ideal candidate will oversee the relatively new manufacturing division of a well-established rooflight company. We are looking for someone who is versatile and willing to take on challenges and is happy to be hands on within the factory. You will need to have a proactive approach towards the role and willing to work closely with production as well as the factory team to ensure the smooth running of the factory, whilst maintaining the high-quality standard of production that our clients expect.

• Overseeing manufacturing and production processes

• Creating and execute daily, weekly, monthly and annual production schedules

• Develop and implement safety, health, environment and quality procedures

• Monitoring productivity rates, standards and quality control

• Procuring factory production equipment and taking responsibility for its maintenance

• Striving to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines

• Maintaining hygienic conditions for both employees and the factory itself

• Implementing all the company’s procedures and policies

• Communicating any problems or obstacles to senior management

• Training and coaching Factory Operators and Sorters

This role involves the management of the production team at Techniical Limited to ensure high standards of health and safety, stock and quality control, equipment maintenance and security as well as site safety and compliance.

The ideal candidate must be a team player as well and willing to get involved in fabricating alongside the team whilst withholding their management position.

You will review, develop and implement processes and procedures to improve the yard as a whole and manage stock accurately.

You will be responsible for overseeing goods in and out of the yard to ensure quality standards are reached and upheld.

You will be responsible for the checking and maintenance of company equipment, plant and machinery & maintaining relevant logs/records and ensuring daily checks and wash downs are completed by users.

Adhering to health and safety requirements and ensuring safe working practices in the yard including regular updating of risk assessments and hazard reporting will also be an important factor of this position as will ensuring environmental compliance of yard/site activities.

You will be undertaking regular reviews of production and standards and making adjustments/improvements where and when required and heading up the implementation of stock management.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role carrying out fabrication within the fenestration industry, a full, clean UK driving licence, exceptional organisational and communication skills as well as being computer literate. Experience using project management software and MS Excel would be advantageous.

Any relevant Health and Safety qualifications and experience would be beneficial as well as any licences for fork lifts and other plant and machinery.

Working hours Monday to Friday 7am until 4pm.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From £37,000 to £40,000 per year
