Family Solicitor Role Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Family Solicitor for this London based firm. You will be an experienced all-round family law practitioner, familiar with high-value divorce and financial matters, as well as high-value non-married matters, including pre- and post-nuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements. Additionally, expertise in managing complex living arrangements, including international jurisdiction matters, is essential. The ideal candidate should also have a substantial client following in London.
Family Solicitor Responsibilities:
* Client Consultations:
* Conduct initial client consultations to understand their legal needs and provide informed advice.
* Case Management:
* Manage a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, and related issues.
* Prepare and draft legal documents, including petitions, affidavits, and court submissions.
* Legal Representation:
* Represent clients in family court proceedings, negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution methods.
* Legal Research:
* Stay informed about developments in family law and ensure legal advice is up-to-date and accurate.
* Client Communication:
* Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on case progress and address any concerns.
* Mediation and Negotiation:
* Engage in mediation and negotiation processes to achieve amicable settlements when possible.
* Court Appearances:
* Attend court hearings and proceedings, presenting cases effectively on behalf of clients.
* Legal Advice:
* Provide clear and concise legal advice to clients, explaining complex legal concepts in an understandable manner.
* Collaboration:
* Collaborate with other legal professionals within the firm to ensure comprehensive client service.
* Documentation:
* Prepare and maintain accurate and thorough case documentation and records.
Family Solicitor Skills and Qualities:
* Admission to the Solicitors Roll or Licensed Conveyancer or CILEX Lawyer.
* Experience in general Family law work
* Capability to draft and review legal documents accurately reflecting the client's instructions
* Ability to cultivate client relationships and identify areas for expanding work
