Senior Gl Accountant - Netherlands

Based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, our global client is looking for a Senior GL Accountant to join their growing finance team on a permanent basis. The role will be hybrid working with 3 days per week required in their offices.

This role would suit an experienced qualified accountant, ideally with hospitality industry experience, to be responsible for end-to-end GL accounting and the entire month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close process for a group of in-sourced legal entities.

The successful individual will have proven working experience as an all-round accountant with VAT return and other regulatory filings experience. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role, multiple languages is a huge advantage (English, German, Dutch, other European). Good understanding of Local GAAP knowledge is essential, IFRS knowledge is desirable. Functional knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel) is essential for this role. MS Dynamics 365 or Navision (ERP software) and Opera PMS would be an advantage.

Duties will include:

• Responsible for the end-to-end GL accounting activities and the entire month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close process for a group of in-sourced legal entities
• Posting of G/L and transactional journals, this includes the data transfer from other relevant systems (ie Opera PMS)
• Monthly Balance sheet and P&L fluctuation analysis, support the preparation of forecasts, budgets and monthly reporting package
• Completion of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Coordinate the compliance deliverables with the local service providers (i.e. CIT, Payroll etc.)
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Coordinate and review the input from the Assistant Accountants on A/R and A/P ledgers
