Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.
We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City.
In Redbridge we are proud of our Children & Families Service, which was rated as outstanding in 2019 and again in April 2022 during a focussed visit by OFSTED. Joining us will give you the opportunity to participate in the continuous development of a multi-agency service, that is innovative and creative. A service that is constantly improving services to meet the needs of its residents, which includes vulnerable families and children.
The role involves working with colleagues in children’s social care and a wide variety of partners in external agencies. You will be expected to provide a range of support, working at various office-based locations, home visits to families, schools and any other venues as required, to support a diverse community. You will need to understand safeguarding and be able to work with mental ill health, substance misuse, domestic violence, learning disabilities and other factors that could impede effective parenting. This is an essential frontline service meeting the needs of children, young people, and families. You will need to be motivated, innovative, and willing to work with a range partner agencies, children, and families from diverse backgrounds. Our aim is to improve outcomes for children and families.
