Family Support Worker - Worcester

Are you a passionate, dedicated Family Support Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Family Support Worker to join the Supporting Families First Team based in Worcester.

Umbrella Rate- £18.74 per hour

Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, 35 hrs/week

3 months initially

The Role:

• Direct work, providing support to children and families where there is Child In Need Plan in place.
• As part of the job role, you will also be working with families where children are deemed to be on the edge of Local Authority care, including families where there is high risk of family breakdown.

• Work closely with Children and Families Social Workers as part of agreed plans for children.
• Develop better understanding of child development and needs within parents and carers.
• To work flexibly based on the needs of children and families.
• To undertake work outside of normal office hours and at weekends.
  
  
  
  • Participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff in their development and training.
  
  

• Support, encourage and empower parents/carers to take responsibility for meeting needs of their children.
• Provide practical and emotional support where necessary.

• Help to keep children safe through assessment and planning processes.
• Work in partnership with other agencies as part of the 'team around the family'.
• Ensure service users and their family’s feelings, opinions and accounts are logged accurately and appropriately.
• Keep written records and produce reports.
• Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary.

Requirements:

• UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance.

• Level of education equivalent to NVQ 3 in a relevant field (Childcare, Early Years, Social Care or other) or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience of working with children and their families as part of a team or with Partner Agencies.

• Recent experience working with vulnerable children and families that require additional support.

• Experience of delivering parenting support/skills with adults and their children.
• The ability to work calmly under pressure and meet designated deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Enhanced Child and Adult DBS Certificate registered to the update service.
