Overview:

We are seeking a part-time Farmers Market Stall Assistant/Salesperson to join our team on Saturdays. This role requires an outgoing, reliable, and independent individual who can effectively sell and upsell our products at local markets.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and dismantle stall equipment and displays.
• Engage with customers, offering product samples, and providing information about our offerings.
• Effectively promote and sell products to meet or exceed sales targets.
• Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of sales.
• Monitor and replenish stock levels during market hours.
• Ensure cleanliness and attractiveness of the stall throughout the market day.

Experience:

• Prior experience in sales or customer-facing roles, particularly in a retail or market environment, is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage a Market Stall, including setup, customer engagement, and sales activities.
• Knowledge of and passion for fermented foods, health, or wellness-related products is a plus.
• Ability to discuss and educate customers about the benefits of unpasteurised fermented foods.
• Strong communication skills to interact with customers and vendors
• Upselling skills to promote our fermented products effectively

Key Requirements:

• Valid driver's license.
• Access to a car that meets ULEZ standards in Edinburgh.
• Resides in Fife.
• Understands the importance of unpasteurised fermented foods and is interested/passionate about the health benefits, able to confidently talk about them.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven ability to sell and promote products effectively.
• Ambitious with a drive to achieve sales targets and grow market presence.
• Experience working at or managing Market Stalls independently.
• Outgoing personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Schedule and Compensation:

• Hours: Typically 9-10 hours per week, Saturdays from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM (hours may vary based on market schedule).
• Compensation: £11.50 per hour + commission on sales.
• Additional Compensation: 45p per mile for mileage related to market attendance.
