Fashion Designer

Our client was established over 30 years ago, and they are proud to be as strong as ever.  Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand their design team.  We are open to the level as there is opportunity from Junior through to Senior.

The ideal candidate will have a multi-product portfolio, with a strength in Jersey wear.  You must have experience working with India and excellent communication skills so you can manage and be part of customer meetings.

We are ideally looking for someone who has worked with the main supermarkets and Primark.

Key responsibilities (Flexible Depending on level)

• To ensure the constant development of new product ranges that gives continuity to the business requirements and satisfies the customer’s needs
• Be able to do technical specs and work closely with factorys
• To plan and execute professionally required presentation’s to the customer communicating clearly the trends and commercial key factors of the product offer and the benefits of the business.
• Awareness of market trends and opportunities instigating follow up product development to effect the development of further business opportunities which are suited to the Company’s areas of production expertise
• To build and maintain direct and commercially effective relationships with the principal decision takers within all customers/accounts and to work with them to identify and implement initiatives which will increase their level of business with the company.
• Evaluate and interpret market trends, initiate and drive new material and component development in line with the market direction.
• Must be able to travel to factories and customers
• Able to present trend /shape with conviction- great presentation and communication skills  
• Experienced in sourcing fabrics
• Commercial awareness, interpreting trends and translating them to meet customer profile
• Keeping up to date with emerging fashion trends – fabric, colour, shape. Identifying areas for development.

Experience:

• Experience in a supplier environment and within ladies, men and childrenswear ideally
• Previous Exposure in product Design on Jerseywear
• Proficient in all Microsoft packages and photoshop/illustrator
• Some licensing/Graphics/3D experience would be beneficial
