Job description

We are now looking for a Head of Menswear Design to join our Menswear team. This role will work in close collaboration with the Head of Menswear and will report into the Design Director. Our Menswear department includes many of the garment groups that COS has become renowned for including tailoring, outdoor, denim, knitwear & jersey, and accessories.

As a Head of Menswear Design at COS, you will have a strong visionary and strategic mind-set, being responsible to deliver the company vision that is set by our Design Director, being able to translate the vision into the collection plan. You will drive targets clearly for your department and lead your design team in the creative work. In this role you are responsible for building and driving a strong assortment, providing products that sits in a complete wardrobe, that meets our customer requirements and the COS aesthetic. You are responsible to drive the selling in line with the business strategy, to generate meaningful growth and profitability.

You are ultimately responsible for the department’s best customer offer, design, quality and for the collection throughout all channels ensuring the department meets its season critical path deadlines.

What you will do:

  • Be a visionary and creative leader, driving the COS menswear collection for each season and the future.
  • Set a clear inspiring and strategic creative direction to your team, to deliver on meaningful growth and profitability.
  • Collaborate and have a cross functional approach to set and deliver the total assortment strategy.
  • Display analytical and creative vision to secure the customer experience.
  • Research and act on future trend sand customer shifts that will strengthen our customer offer.
  • Able to inspire, motivate and empower your team, lead them by having a knowledgeable overview, building a highly creative team.
  • Create a compelling Global Menswear collection in line with our Brand ID.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Pattern and Atelier team, managing the shape development and fitting process, ensuring the critical path deadline are met.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced Head of Design for Menswear who will bring creative strength and newness to each collection. You will have a high strategic level and able demonstrate strong leadership skills.

What you need to succeed:

  • 15+ years’ experience working in fashion design, leading design teams for a global company.
  • Degree in Fashion Design
  • Strong luxury fashion intelligence, essential to have worked with premium fabrics having excellent eye to detail.
  • Wide technical knowledge and a great understanding of textiles, garment making & fit.
  • Excellent eye for colour, detail, and proportion.
  • High level of awareness and knowledge of current and future trends.
  • Strong grasp of sustainable fashion solutions, material innovation and product development.
  • Strong team player and inspiring communicator.
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced and creative environment.
