Job Summary
If you want to be a part of the generation that ends poverty by 2030, then this could be the role for you! Our very busy Oxfam shop on Magdalen Street is looking for new members to join our fashion volunteer team.
This is an energetic and exciting role where you will have the opportunity to volunteer flexibly from 4 hours each week, with more hours are available on request. We are looking for people who are willing to learn, with an interest in volunteering, the charity sector and/or fashion!
What the Role Involves:
- Sorting incoming donations of clothing and accessories, identifying those which are likely to sell and any that have a (sometimes much higher) value
- Opportunity to help research the value of vintage/rare/designer clothing online
- Use shop guidelines to price clothing
- Replenishing the rails on our shop floor
- Merchandising donated clothing to increase sales potential - you can even use your creativity to design and execute a window display!
Desirable Skills:
- Have an eye for current trends and recognise some fashion labels
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Attention to detail, being able to decide what is fit for resale and what is not
- A good knowledge of high street brands – shopaholics welcome!
- A positive and friendly disposition
