The service you will work in....

Hestia is the largest provider of support to potential victims of trafficking in the UK. A dynamic service celebrating innovation and high engagement from service users. Safe House advocates provide high quality frontline support to individuals who may have experienced trafficking and modern slavery, including labour and criminal exploitation, sexual exploitation, domestic servitude and other forms of exploitation.

A day in this role looks like....

As a Safe House Advocate at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Modern Slavery Support service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:

  • Remain up-to-date and compliant with all organisational procedures policies.
  • Manage a case load ensuring each service user receives high quality and professional codes of conduct and uphold standards of best practice.
  • Provide monitoring information, both internally and externally, as required.
  • Ensure that all records are kept up to date and are stored securely.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure access to European Convention for Action against Trafficking (ECAT) rights and help them confidential manner.
  • Handle petty cash in line with financial policy and procedure.
  • Conduct risk assessments and review support plans on a regular basis with all service users.
  • Work with the management team to enable Hestia to develop its aims and high standard support to undertake housing management duties which include all objectives by participating in meetings and processes to further organisational aspects of health and safety. policy and practice.
  • Establish and maintain effective liaison with other agencies including GPs, solicitors, mental health services, education, social services, police and other statutory and voluntary agencies to help ensure service users receive coordinated help and support.
  • Write official letters on behalf of service users to the Home Office, or other partner agencies.
  • Follow procedures and protocols with other services so that the safety of the service user is kept central to any process.
  • Keep records of contacts with service users which clearly demonstrate the nature of contact, aims and objectives.

We are looking for candidates who bring a combination of passion, expertise, and dedication to the table. To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Experience in providing advice and support to vulnerable adults with mental and physical health needs and an awareness of safeguarding adult and children principles.
  • Experience of working in supported accommodation.
  • Ability to respond to crisis effectively and cope in stressful situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work on various client databases.
  • Ability to keep accurate financial records.
  • Knowledge of the Modern Slavery act 2015.
