The Accommodation Officers will be based within the Abercorn Street Service a key function will be to support the development of the accommodation service, and to strengthen the service’s ability to provide suitable temporary accommodation for families affected by homelessness in Renfrewshire.
You will be responsible for supporting the development of temporary accommodation for anyone affected by homelessness in Renfrewshire. Previous experience of organising property repairs, maintenance and utilities would be preferrable as well as the ability to work empathically with families affected by homelessness in Renfrewshire.
It is essential you have relevant housing experience including dealing with the public in an interview situation and letter writing and working with agencies/department. together with effective IT, numeracy, and communication skills.
A knowledge of homelessness and development in national housing policy anddriving licence is also essential.
Normal hours of duty are 35 hours per week to be worked as directed between Monday to Sunday, the post holder may be required to work extended hours during evenings and weekends including attendance at meetings and conferences/seminars as required.
SNC level Qualification on Housing or equivalent and experience of collating statistics and purchasing goods and services is desirable.
