Job Description
This role is based within Thames Valley so the successful candidate can be based in various locations.
What you’ll be doing as a Field Engineer?
- Carry out field surveys for new flow management activities; ensuring accurate and sufficiently detailed information is gathered to allow designs to be created with zero variations and in line with Key Performance Indicators.
- Oversee and aid in the installation of new flow management arrangements, ensuring plans are executed in a safe and timely manner with minimal customer and operational disruption.
- Ongoing management of installed schemes including contractor supervision, control over variations, health and safety and management of hire equipment.
- Working alongside our suppliers and contractors to ensure all work is completed in a safe manner and by Thames Water's standards and procedures.
- Liaising and meeting with external stakeholders including customers to ensure works are planned and communicated to the relevant people.
- Carry out Health and Safety audits of contractors, sites, and internal teams for compliance with the relevant standards and regulations.
- Reporting and resolving issues identified where appropriate. Operating under Thames Water’s Zero Compromise approach to H&S.
- With this role, you will be required to be part of the out-of-hours, on-call rota. This will be approx. 1 in 5/6 weeks. This will be discussed at the interview stage.
- Engineering background useful, ONC Level or equivalent.
- Relevant technical qualification desirable but not essential.
- Experience with pump systems, preferable.
- A working knowledge of sewer networks is advantageous, especially Health & Safety.
- NRSWA Signing, lighting, and guarding - Unit 2, Operatives, preferable.
- Knowledge of pipe-laying/pipeline construction.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
- Driving Licence is essential for this role.
