The Role
As Commercial and Retail Field Based Manager you ll be responsible for supervising and training tradespeople in the field to increase the scope of works we complete for our commercial and retail clients. You ll provide support and advice on best practice for sales and customer service as required. You ll determine which tradespeople require support based on sales figures and provide formal feedback to assist continuous development.
As part of your daily schedule, you ll need to:
Attend jobs with tradespeople to provide sales support and training Analyse sales performance to identify specific tradespeople who require support Assist with creating and proposing quotes and SoW for remedial work and larger-scale projects Help to ensure customers requirements are met while ensuring tradespeople provide high levels of service Help to resolve customer complaints by conducting site visits where required Provide performance feedback about tradespeople s sales performance and development to the Head of Operations About You
Having extensive technical knowledge and qualifications in plumbing and building fabric is essential. Experience and knowledge of commercial gas, HVAC, roofing, electrical maintenance, or drainage would be highly beneficial. You ll have a minimum of 5-years of experience as a tradesperson and extensive success in quoting and winning proposed works with customers.
You ll have supervisory or management experience and the proven ability to train others on specific sales and customer service techniques. You ll be capable of analysing sales data to identify tradespeople who require extra support and training.
You ll need to be well organised to ensure you provide support to the 70+ tradespeople within the department. Be able to plan your time effectively and reliably deliver rather than over-promising.
You ll have a full, clean UK driving licence and you ll be prepared to drive to jobs wherever they are in Staffordshire or the Home Counties.
We expect you to have excellent communication skills and be used to working as part of multi-discipline teams. You ll be able to share your knowledge and experience to help develop the skills of others. You ll also have experience in helping to develop customer relationships.
