Field Service Calibration Engineer (Instrumentation)
Field / On-Site Service Calibration Engineerwith experience of calibrating electrical, temperature and pressure measuring instrumentation is required for a permanent position, ideally based in North / West London region preferably somewhere between Epping to Slough (M25, J27 to J15) to cover the London, the Home Counties, East Anglia region and very occasionally further afield in the UK and overseas.

The On-Site / Field Service Calibration Engineer will be working 39 hours + travel time and O/T.

Primary Purpose of Job: Joining our team as a Mobile On-site Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking various calibrations of electrical, pressure, vacuum and temperature instruments to ISO9001 & ISO17025 standards to the correct procedures, instructions and specifications, predominately at customer sites and also in the company's laboratories.
Also ensuring that mandatory and legislative QHSE aspects of work are implemented at all times, maintaining relevant records of work, data and results in a traceable and auditable manner utilising software management systems.
The successful Field Service Calibration Engineer day to day duties will include:
- Calibrate customers' electronic / electrical, temperature and pressure measuring instruments to in-house, national / traceable standard using approved procedures and good metrology practice.
- Documenting and inputting data / results onto computer and producing quality written documents.
- Liaise and provide technical support to customers and colleagues.
- Participate in customer surveillance and accreditation audits.
- Follow company QHSE guidelines.
To be suitable for this Field Service Calibration Engineer role you must have the following experience:
- Have completed a relevant engineering apprenticeship and or hold an equivalent engineering / technical qualification such as degree, HND, HNC, NVQ/BTEC Level 3 or above.
- Previous experience as a Field Service Calibration Engineer / Technician.
- Recent experience of calibrating electronic / electrical, temperature, pressure / vacuum measuring instruments to in-house, national traceable or UKAS standards
- Ideally will have completed a relevant engineering apprenticeship or be time served.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service experience.
- Excellent organisational skills, able to work under pressure and with the minimum of supervision.
- Must be PC literate in MS Word and Excel
- Full UK driving licence (preferably clean, 3 points max)
The ideal Field Service Calibration Engineer will have:
- Proven track record in customer facing / Field Service experience.
- Excellent understanding of calibration practices and theories.
- Experience of calibrating other types of equipment / instruments such as dimensional / mechanical, physical, torque etc.
in addition to the essential parameters of electrical, temperature, pressure / vacuum measuring instruments. - Knowledge of UKAS ISO 17025:2017 calibration standards and ISO 9001
- Knowledge of importing / exporting from Excel databases and report generation from databases.

The successful On-Site Instrument Calibration Engineer will need to be flexible as there is likely to be some overtime, you may be required to stay away from home very occasionally and other duties not mentioned in this job description.
You will have standard level education, have the relevant qualifications and experience, possess good communicational and organisational skills, able to work under pressure, keen and have a practical approach to work.
