As a Field Service Engineer you will be a vital member of the team. You will carry out commissioning and performance and acceptance testing of large generators. You'll also be in charge of Power Management Systems and their associated sub systems.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Commissioning generators and associated control equipment up to 200MVA
- Conducting fault diagnosis and rectification of control equipment.
- Commissioning generator protection systems by way of either primary or secondary injection.
- Carrying out electrical testing on high and low voltage windings in the field
- Interpreting specifications and technical requirements of assignment brief and represent at customer technical meetings
- Training customers personnel, subcontractors and other members of the service organization
- Ensuring assignments are monitored and delivered in accordance with expenditure and project schedules
- Preparing method statements and risk Assessments in relation to client sites.
- Effectively communicate and keep updated customer representatives and brush project managers
- Carrying out other reasonable l duties as directed from time to time by the Field Service Manger.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Ideally Degree or Degree equivalent qualified in Electrical engineering with 5 years site experience.
- At a minimum HNC and a full recognized apprenticeship in an electrical discipline with 5 years site experience.
- High level knowledge of electrical power generation and distribution systems which should include micro processor systems.
- Must be able to interpret Engineering drawings relevant to given assignments.
- Should ideally be in possession of certification to prove HV competence.
- Ideally should have a sound knowledge of health and Safety relevant to on site working and have intimate knowledge of safe systems of work in an HV environment.
- Should either possess or be prepared to undergo training for offshore working.
