SalaryEscape Recruitment's client, a leading provider in the marine industry, is seeking a talented individual for the role of Field Service Engineer - Instrumentation & Controls. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team, initially based in Scotland's central belt for training, with the flexibility to be based from any location throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine on-site overhaul, repair, and service operations on marine instrumentation and control systems.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Maintain and update technical documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal and external teams.
- Repair, install, and commission systems on customers' vessels.
- Conduct sea trials and commission equipment, including Stabilisers & Naval Steering Gear control systems.
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant legal and company procedures, including Health & Safety policies.
Requirements:
- Qualification in marine/electrical engineering or Instrumentation & Controls discipline.
- Previous experience in a Field Service or customer-facing role preferred.
- Willingness to travel worldwide at short notice.
- Valid UK Passport or other current permission to work in the UK.
Desired Skills:
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Experience in project management is advantageous.
- Excellent conflict management skills.
- Flexibility to travel on short notice.
Work Location:
This is a global field-based position with a significant requirement for travel based on customer requirements.
