Field ServiceEngineer / Mechanical & Electrical Technician who has a minimum of a degree or diploma (or equivalent) in a mechanical, electrical or related engineering discipline, or relevant industry experience, with excellent communication skills, as well as a high level of accuracy and attention to detail is required for a well-established manufacturing company based in Derby, Derbyshire, East Midlands.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in servicing, maintaining and calibrating CMM equipment (Coordinate Measuring Machines), but this is not essential as training will be provided where needed.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Field ServiceEngineer / Mechanical & Electrical Technician include:
• Attend customer sites and perform routine preventative maintenance, repairs and calibrations on all brands of CMM’s – Co-ordinate Measuring Machines
• Undertake the setup and commissioning of new or refurbished CMMs at customer sites
• Perform routine scheduled maintenance on machines and annual calibrations on machines at customer sites
• Diagnose and resolve technical problems promptly and effectively, utilising your expertise to provide reliable cost-effective solutions and minimise machine downtime
• Provide exceptional technical assistance to customers via on-site visits, guiding them through operational challenges and offering comprehensive solutions through product knowledge
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing your insights and ideas to enhance product performance and customer satisfaction
• Ensure meticulous documentation of all service maintenance, service call out reports and calibration activities and record customer interactions
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations during all activities, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others
• Solve problems, minimising the downtime on the equipment and responding to call outs at short notice
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
• Degree or diploma in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering fields
• Prior experience in the service, maintenance & calibration of CMM’s is highly advantageous, other engineering backgrounds will be taken into consideration
• Previous experience working in a Field Service Engineering role or a related industry
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and control systems, with the ability to read technical drawings and schematics
• Proven track record of effectively identifying and resolving complex technical issues with a logical and analytical approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with customers and internal teams professionally
• Demonstrate dedication to meeting customer needs and providing outstanding service at all times
• Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites as required (both domestic and international)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Good positive work ethic, positive attitude and good time keeping skills
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and products
• Be able to take initiative, have a high degree of attention and be responsible for your own work from start to completion
• Be physically fit and capable of using steps and other access equipment
• Be self-motivated when working alone
• A great communicator in fluent English both written and spoken
Desirable:
• Previous experience in servicing, maintaining and calibrating CMM’s – co-ordinate measuring machines
• UKAS BS EN ISO 10360-2:2009 & ISO 10360-5:2020 approved
