I have the pleasure of supporting Sheffield City Council in their recruitment of roles in their children and family's team.
This is classed as Fields Services Support Worker, and it is a temp on going role with plenty of opportunities.
Job role
To work alongside social workers in assessing the levels of need of children and young people, their families and carers and identifying appropriate plans and services to support them.
To provide support and advice to families and carers on how best to meet the needs of their children or young people. Promote the educational, training, employment opportunities and social skills of young people and enable them to build these skills.
Support young people “in need” in securing and maintaining appropriate accommodation.
Establish links within local communities to ensure that effective responses to children and young people’s needs are maximised.
Assist young people in the development of a range of self-care and independent living skills.
Promote the health of children and young people and enable access to the appropriate health care professionals.
Having a car and being able to drive would be a distinct advantage as transporting children across the city to different venues is a huge part of the role. You will be supporting children and families in need and this will be brilliant experience for you to progress your career. You will be linked to a team of social workers in frontline fieldwork areas.
One post is in North Fieldwork based at Sorby House, Spital Hill, Sheffield but covering the North area of the city and there are two posts in South Fieldwork area based at Stadia Technology Park, Attercliffe covering the South area of the city.
Full time working is 37 hours per week Monday to Friday.
