In a nutshell
This role is responsible for business partnering the Estates and Energy teams, focusing on value creation and strengthening the performance of the Property division. The job holder will provide insight, analysis and commentary, aiming to drive decisions and actions that improve the Occupancy cost line. The job holder will partner with senior stakeholders when required, supporting across the business area.
What you need to do
- Interpret management reporting to provide insight, analysis and commentary to stakeholders relating to Sainsbury's and Argos Occupancy cost line (Rent, Business Rates, Utilities costs etc.)
- Work with the Accounting team to ensure outputs are timely and accurate
- In line with the timeline and process set by FP&A, work with the business to manage forecasting including monthly Latest View, budgeting & 5-year planning for the Occupancy cost line
- Identify risks and opportunities and flag these for prioritisation
- Produce periodic management reporting for both Property and Finance
- Complete ad hoc / bespoke analysis and reporting for the business area as required to drive improvements
- Success in this role will mean supporting the business in making decisions that enhance performance through cost control, driving efficiency and increasing return on investment
- Nearly or newly qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Demonstrate analytical skills
- Able to produce financial information in a user-friendly manner
- Ability to deal, reconcile and analyse large volumes of data and simplifying the processes involved
- Able to work to tight deadlines, whilst ensuring accuracy
- Core understanding of accounting and reconciliation requirements
- Basic understanding of commercials, profitability & margin analysis
- Strong Excel Skills
