Total Number of Openings
1 Performs a wide variety of financial analyses to provide company management with interpretive and predictive financial information that is used to make business performance assessments and capital investment/divestment decisions. Develops cross-functional partnerships to identify strategic and commercial opportunities and to resolve performance issues.
Supports larger customers/clients and may lead functional projects under infrequent supervision. Developing a detailed knowledge of the work function.

Supply & Trading (S&T) is the critical commercial link to the market for Upstream and Downstream & Chemicals. S&T buys, sells and supplies crude oil, refined products, natural gas and gas liquids to support Chevron's crude and gas production operations and its refining and marketing network.
The Midstream Finance department provides core financial processes, including decision support, variance analysis and preparation of statutory accounts to a variety of BUs. The Midstream Finance team work closely with the Traders, Partner organisations (e.g. Legal Tax, Treasury), US and Singapore Midstream Finance and the Finance Shared Service Centres in Manila and Buenos Aires.
Responsibilities for this position may not include but are not limited to:
  • Review earnings for accuracy and completeness
  • Prepares and presents monthly/quarterly trading earnings
  • Prepares monthly commentary explaining key drivers for profit and losses
  • Provides accounting support for complex transactions, new business, and changes to existing business
  • Reviews and reports on valuation of derivatives with forward month pricing (MTM Valuation)
  • Primary finance contact for trading
  • Provides support to Finance Shared Service teams to resolve complex items
  • Perform SOX controls and other internal controls
  • Leads or participates in projects to support business, IT and finance and accounting related changes
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in financial analysis and reporting
  • Previous experience in the oil and gas industry is preferable but not essential
  • SAP knowledge preferred but not essential
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good knowledge of internal controls
  • Self-starter capable of managing routine and ad hoc workload with strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong communication skills with diverse stakeholders from both financial and non-financial backgrounds across different countries
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

Practicing knowledge of accounting policies/procedures (including US GAAP, general accounting)
