SalaryThe Role will consist of:
- Leading on the preparation of annual accounts
- Responsible for day-to-day operation of financial systems including regular timely financial reports
- Review and update financial policies, procedures and controls as necessary
- Act as key contact to ensure corporate reporting and IT policies are met
- Engage and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders
- Act as point of contact for internal and external audit
- Develop and maintain procurement policy and strategy
- Oversee tendering and act as contract manager
- Ensure appropriate facilities management arrangements are in place
- Work with managers to ensure health and safety arrangements are in place
- Identify relevant training and development opportunities for team members
- Provide leadership, management, accountability , support and guidance to the team
The Person
As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:
Essential:
- Experience of corporate governance and risk management
- Experience supporting development of bids for resources
- Experience of liaison and engagement with funders
- Experience in public sector procurement
- Experience managing a team
- Involvement in the preparation of accounts to public sector standards
- Experience in the use of financial IT systems
- Have 2 years experience in the preparation of all aspects of public sector annual resource accounts
Desirable:
- Have successfully completed exams and be a full current member of a relevant accounting body
