Job description

Are you a maths or finance graduate (or equivalent) looking for their first or second job role? Then we have an exciting opportunity for you based in Farringdon that offers hybrid working.

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our friendly, professional team at Seymour.

You will provide the necessary support to the SIL Financial Controller to enable timely and accurate decision-making in relation to cash flow management, the budgeting and forecasting processes, and the successful management of FX transactional exposure.

In addition, the Finance Assistant will produce the costs for the monthly SDL management accounts, including the production of overhead information for both businesses, budgeting and forecasting costs.


Key Accountabilities
  • Management of all cashflow forecasting models in Excel
  • Monitoring and reporting to management market FX rates
  • Monthly reporting against forecast on FX gains/losses
  • Liaison with our bankers
  • SIL cash books and bank reconciliations
  • Overhead variance analysis, detailed commentary, and distribution of monthly management packs for SDL
  • Maintenance of overhead schedules and posting of relevant cost journals including prepayments, accruals, cross charges and the monthly payroll journal
  • Produce budget and forecast overhead numbers including meeting with budget holders and providing variance analysis and commentary in the budget and forecast reports
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register including calculation and input of depreciation journals, reconciliations and management of capitalisation of assets
  • Complete quarterly VAT returns for both businesses, ensuring that the returns are completed accurately and on a timely basis
  • Fulfil reporting requirements for the Office of National Statistics
  • Process Bauer payroll files and forecast payroll information, maintaining confidentiality
  • Overseas distributor risk analysis reporting and modelling
  • Accounts Payable support when required
  • Ad hoc task as required
