Salary: £30,000 to £34,000 (depending on relevant experience)

Job Overview:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is integral to ensuring the timely production of accurate financial reports, business information, and statutory submissions. The Finance Assistant will also handle administrative tasks including credit management and office administration while studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end processes and internal management reports.
• Complete weekly and monthly reporting to third parties and stakeholders
• Support payroll and HR processes.
• Manage employee expenses and ledger postings in QuickBooks.
• Handle invoicing, supplier payments, and debtor/creditor management.
• Conduct daily bank postings and month-end reconciliations.
• Prepare draft VAT returns and regulatory submissions.
• Maintain department process handbooks and manage queries.
• Assist with general office management and administrative tasks.
• Key Contacts & Relationships:
• Collaborate closely with finance colleagues and provide reporting across the organisation.
• Establish relationships with internal stakeholders and commercial partners.
• Build professional relationships with clients and suppliers.

Person specification

• Excellent academic background
• Desire to study ACCA/CIMA
• Good understanding of balance sheets and revenue accounting
• First class communication skills
• Flexible and collaborative work approach
• Proactive problem-solving ability
• Ambition to progress into senior finance roles within the organisation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
