At Peregrine, we’re proud to be recruiting on behalf of our clients. An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Business Partner to support our client’s Finance Department as a project commences to procure a new Finance system for their organisation.
Client Details:
Our client is a leading tourist attraction and scientific research centre.
The Role:
This role will provide support to allow the current Finance Business Partner to carry out project work.
The normal full time working week is 37 hours but consideration would be given to candidates who wished to work 22 hours or more. The post will be situated in Edinburgh on a hybrid basis, with some home working.
This is a temporary position due to start ASAP until 28th March 2024.
Responsibilities:
Charity Accounting
· Maintain trial balance and integrity of financial ledger
Budgeting & Reporting
· Support the Head of Finance with constructing the annual budgets for RBGE
· Ensure management reports are sent out on a timely basis with the correct information
Tax
· Ensure RBGE complies with all relevant direct and indirect tax regulations
· Liaise with HMRC and tax advisers
· Calculate and submit quarterly VAT returns, including partial recovery
· Ensure Gift Aid and Membership benefits comply with VAT and Corporation Tax
· Monitor and advise on IR35 and self-employment implications
· Ensure PAYE benefits compliance
Payroll
· Responsible for day to day management of the payroll team within RBGE
Team Support
· Deputise for the Head of Finance
Requirements (Essential and not exhaustive):
Qualified Accountant or Part Qualified CA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent with solid post qualifying experience or qualified by experience
Knowledge: Direct and Indirect Tax, including partial VAT recovery, Accounting systems, Core accountancy and financial management, Up to date professional knowledge and the ability to interpret and apply changes in accounting standards and legislation.
Skills: Prior experience of directly supervising staff, Good communication skills with the ability to deal with a number of stakeholders including those out with Finance.
