Job description

We're looking for a qualified Accountant (or qualified by experience) to join our team. You'll have experience Business Partnering or of financial operational change. We're looking for you to be able to demonstrate a level of understanding of key finance reporting processes, finance systems, technical skills, data, risks, and controls, ideally within a Financial Services environment.Location: This role is hybrid, with 2 or 3 days on average to be spent in your base office which could be Edinburgh or Wythall.

Secondment - 12 months Fixed Term Contract

The role
This role will be part of the Finance Change Business Partnering and Embedding and will have responsibility for partnering one or more of the 5 change hubs. This role requires an experienced and commercially astute accountant who has worked in a business facing role, ideally in insurance, and who has experience of driving change within an organisation. The successful candidate will report into the Senior Finance Business Partner and will be crucial in delivering a scalable, efficient change and supporting the business growth ambitions. You'll do this through some of your key responsibilities such as, horizon scanning, developing and deep diving into our business requirements, defining these in a way that they're clear for Finance. Developing designs to ensure Finance Change is understood and requirements can be met ahead of moving into the build phase. You'll support with the embedding of changes and with resolving implementation issues and defects that may rise, all whilst adhering to the Finance Change Governance Framework.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for a qualified Accountant (or qualified by experience) to join our team. You'll have experience of financial operational change and of designing or delivery of a target operating model. We're looking for you to be able to demonstrate a level of understanding of key finance reporting processes, finance systems, technical skills, data, risks, and controls within a Financial Services environment.
You'll have excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills, to build networks, whilst being able to communicate complex accounting procedures and principles with multiple stakeholders across the business and influencing outcomes.
Through excellent organisational skills, strong task ownership and a diligent approach you'll be successful within this role.
