LHH are working with a leading charity on their search for a Finance Director. Based on the Isle of Wight, this role would suit a qualified accountant with strong people skills, looking to get involved in an incredible organisation.
Salary: £75,000 - £90,000
Location: Isle of Wight (Hybrid)
The Finance Director will play an integral role in supporting the business enact its strategic plan and developing the on-going commercial success of the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Driving commercial behaviour throughout the organisation with a key focus on improving access to financial information and financial resilience
- Ensuring the appropriate business plans and processes are in place to ensure the long-term viability of the charity
- Providing and presenting sound financial advice and accounts to the CEO, the Board of Trustees, and FSC
- Production and presentation of annual reports and accounts for the charity and its trading subsidiary to comply with statutory accounting standards and principles, as well as Charity Commission rules
- Leading the budgeting process
- Management of 5 direct reports, providing 1-1 sessions and reviews
- Report to the Board of Trustees, FSC, and the ORSC on a quarterly basis on financial performance and risk
Person Specification:
- Qualified Accountant - ACA / ACCA / CIMA
- Sound knowledge of charity law and SORP compliance
- Good knowledge of managing organisational risk, business insurance, negotiating, and forming contracts
- Proven experience in a strategic financial leadership role
- Proven project management experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating gravitas and confidence at Board level
The role is being recruited on a hybrid basis of 2-3 days a week in the office.
