Finance Director required in Sutton.
Salary GBP47,000 - GBP49,000 (FTE)
Part-time position 22.5-30 hours per week.
Our clients are looking for a Finance Director to take the lead for the financial performance management of the organisation, managing the function operationally, strategically and in relationships with stakeholders, along with taking responsibility for the Company Secretary requirements.
The job holder will work closely with the CEO and Trustee with responsibility to the Finance Risk and Audit sub committee, as well as being a key member of the Senior Management Team, and also be the management of our Finance Officer and Systems and Insight Manager.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience of the UK charity or not for profit sector, with advanced knowledge of SORP and charity law. You will have robust technical skills and a proactive approach with a proven ability to 'roll sleeves up' and focus on solutions. You will have excellent leadership and communication skills, able to motivate your team and build rapport with a range of finance and non-finance persons across the organisation
Responsibilities include but not exhaustive:
To support the organisation's strategic plan with annual and medium term financial planning.To review and advise on the key assumptions of the annual budget proposals.To advise and analyse new business and project initiatives and their performance.To provide monthly financial management information to the Senior Management Team and the Treasurer.To provide accounting information to managers for planning and controlling the charity's income and expenditure.To plan and manage cash flow.To assist the Treasurer in overseeing the charity's investment portfolio and liaising with the external investment managers.To maintain accurate records to comply with external legal, Charity Commission, Companies House and HMRC requirements.To prepare the statutory annual accounts for the charity and liaise with the auditors.To support the Chief Executive in fulfilling Company Secretary responsibilities, such as submitting external reports.To be the authorised official for the charity and subsidiary company for HMRC purposes.To manage outsourced services for payroll.
Experience required:
Be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)? Have experience of the Charity SORP, including fund accounting and Income recognition rules.? Have experience of providing finance and budgeting support and input to all commission and grant funded programmes? Require Board reporting experience, including monthly finance update reports? Manage the Annual budget setting, budget variance reporting and forecasting.? Have knowledge of Xero accounting system, or similar? Have good excel skills? Have a hands-on approach needed in a medium sized charity
