Role overview

We are looking for a Finance Manager to ensure the financial health of an organisation is on track.

The person is to conduct accurate data analysis and offer advice to maximise profits and a secure balance sheet, securing long-term success for the company.

This role requires a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles alongside solid analytical skills to drive problem solving alongside opportunity identification. The role involves understanding of the business process, and systems optimisation. The person must be comfortable interacting with all levels of management in multiple areas. The role requires a flexible mind set as ad-hoc projects and requests as Huckletree scales is part of the journey.

This role, which reports to the Finance Director and will allow you to manage the full business partnering lifecycle. You will partner with our central team leads as well as our external advisors to ensure the timely delivery of our financial services. This opportunity will be ideal for an established

Finance Business Partner to come into our business and utilise their technical skills within a fast paced business environment.

Key Focus Areas:

In a nutshell:

Financial planning and analysis, trial balance sheet integrity, looking to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as ad-hoc projects.

  • Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices for a robust trial balance
  • Own month end ensuring reporting is accurate, timely and complete
  • Budgeting and forecasting ownership driving performance standards to achieve Huckletree business goals
  • Lead FP&A with cadence of regular reporting and meetings throughout the organisation and ownership quarterly and annual processes
  • Support Finance Director in monitoring and adding value to business performance in relation to commercial requirements - Improving the impact and understanding of financial reporting on operational performance
  • Investment support, modelling, debt reporting and owning key performance monthly reviews
  • Partnering with department heads in preparing management information and providing 'real time' insight to be a trusted adviser to add value that will assist in improvements and decision making. This includes provision of management information to external partners.
  • Managing the end-to-end audit process including acting as the first point of contact for external consultants
  • Owning finance systems set up and improvements working with other business unit owners, business operations manager and external advisers to drive required improvements.
  • Continually identify risks and opportunities to delivery, propose solutions where necessary and effectively manage stakeholder expectations throughout
  • Dealing with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts
  • Technical accounting lead for payroll, VAT, CIS, R&D and HMRC processes
  • Ad hoc projects/ analysis to drive performance and position.

Who We Are Seeking:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience with audit experience (working in practice or experience running annual audit)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Management Accounting experience
  • Multi-site experience is desirable
  • Hands on experience with both financial and management accounting with strong excel and modelling skills
  • Experience working in a small team, supporting each other to deliver value and ability delegate, support and manage the work of others
  • We need to consistently train and develop to wider business - Excellent communication and presentational skills required
  • Commercial and analytic mindset and adaptable to thrive in fast-paced environments
  • A self-starter and possess a problem-solving attitude with the ability to work with integrity and openness
  • Excellent attention to detail
