The position is Hybrid 2-3 days per week in the office. Salary £50,000 - £55,000 negotiable.
Due to continued growth a multi-site business with offices based in Widnes are looking to recruit a Finance Manager to support the company in its expansion strategy.
The position is Hybrid 2-3 days per week in the office. Salary £50,000 - £55,000 negotiable.
The role focus will is a combination of bringing in-house the bookkeeping function (currently outsourced) along with supporting management by providing relevant financial analysis and insight to drive understanding and decision making.
The Finance Manager role offers significant opportunity to expand as the business grows.
Duties of the role include:
- Oversight of the day-to-day bookkeeping, with the ability to cover when required.
- Understanding the current processes to successfully support bringing the accounts process in-house
- Responsible for managing finance assistant/bookkeeper and to assist in their recruitment.
- Accountable for the delivery of monthly management accounts.
- Ownership of the fixed asset registers, bank recs, accrual/prepayment schedules.
- Interrogation of revenue reporting/system.
- Production of budgets and forecasts, including analysis of revenue and cost performance to support the growth of the business and improve operational efficiencies.
- Review of VAT returns and coordination/assistance with other tax work as required.
- Ownership of the invoices payable system.
- Ownership of the banking, including management of user permissions and access rights etc.
- Cashflow management.
- Assistance with audit fieldwork and review of statutory accounts.
- Coordination and review of the payroll.
- Leads on analysis of trading and financial performance of possible acquisitions of going concerns as part of expansion strategy.
Ideal skills, qualifications and experience:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Financial planning and analysis experience desirable.
- Knowledge of Xero accounting software desirable.
- A self-starter, organised and capable of working with a wide breadth of responsibility.
- High attention to detail, strong excel and visualisation skills.
- Natural curiosity to develop business understanding and challenge assumptions.
Some travel to UK sites including the London office may be occasionally required.
The Finance Manager role will be based at the companies Widnes offices and is hybrid, 2 days per week in the office.
