An SME Engineering company based in Bradford has afriendly, family-cultured environment and are looking for someone to join theirfinance function to cover all aspects of finance.
Your new role
Finance manager taking control of the whole financefunction. Day to day duties include:
Assisting in the preparation ofbudgets
Managing records and receipts
Bank reconciling daily, monthlyand yearly transactions, providing a monthly management account overview.
Preparing balance sheets
Understanding Reverse VAT withHMRC
Processing invoices, providingweekly/monthly payment run information.
Providing finance based customerservice to clients
Resolve financial disputes raisedby the operations teams.
Credit control Monitorcustomer payment tracking both invoice and applications, monitor retentions.
Being a key point of contact forother departments on financial and accounting matters
Supporting the Operations Managerwith projects and tasks when required
Dealing with HMRC for VAT, PAYE,returns.
Dealing with Pensions.
Managing financial risk, earlywarning, new customer assessment for credit control.
Purchase invoice processing andcoding (to nominal and to project using SAGE);
Purchase invoice checkingand obtaining of approval from Project Managers on a timely basis (daily, ifpossible);
Processing the weekly payroll andmonthly salaries, including Full Payment Submission, and Nest Pensionreporting. You advised that you had not been involved in payroll for two tothree years, and it was agreed that I would give you training to enable you tosuccessfully complete this and that I would be responsible for posting payrollexpenses to the accounts system;
Posting payroll costs to thejob-costing module; again, I agreed to provide training for this, but made itclear that this was essentially a simple data-entry exercise;
Posting materials usage tojob-costing module from summary information provided by Mr Dresser;
Monitoring and chasing salesInvoices and applications to customers for payment, to ensure timely receiptof Payment Notices and payments.
Booking of accommodation foremployees and advising expenses requiring payment to me to pay;
Providing administrative supportto Project Managers if required;
General house-keeping (tidy olddocuments, tidy stationery cupboard etc.)
What you\'ll need to succeed
Experience of an all-around accounts role
SAGE experience is advantageous
Willingness to help other teams including projectmanagers
