Balfour Beatty have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our central Highways team in London
As a Finance Manager you will have the opportunity to be part of the Highways Finance leadership team working with Highways to deliver the long term strategic goals whilst providing financial assurance on the short term financial objectives
What you'll be doing
- Have responsibility for a portfolio of projects, working with and providing challenge to the project leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Consolidation of monthly reporting and forecasting/budgeting for your portfolioo Flasho PBCS monthly reportingo 13 week cashflowo Ownership of feeders
- Provide technical contract understanding to ensure that financial rules are followed in line with Group procedure and accounting for complicated contract mechanisms.
- Lead by example working with the Highways finance leadership to develop a strong learning culture, improving the engagement of the wider finance team and promoting a culture of continued improvement
- Value add look for tangible ways to make Balfour Beatty money and hold on to cash for longer, through working with teams to develop commercial initiatives or to challenge the status quo
- Control ensuring that the balance sheet is correct, and there are robust controls in place to manage our business and ensure there are no surprises
Who we're looking for
- Qualified accountant with a recognised professional body;
- Personal drive to take ownership and improve things
- Having the gravitas to bring people along with them
- Demonstrable ability to form effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders;
- Ability to manage challenging situations;
- Pro-active and highly motivated; Resilience and tenacity;
- Have strong Excel and system skills
