We are currently seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join an extremely reputable, family run SME based in Ilkeston. As a Finance Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of accounts office and financial reporting. You will need to ensure completion of all aspects of the accounts function to ensure the accuracy of the financial transactions and the timely completion of tasks in line with key deadlines.
As Finance Manager your Key Duties and Responsibilities would be:
- Management of end to end processes within the Finance function including:
- Producing monthly management accounts, whilst also providing analysis of GP & EBIDTA and variances
- Maintain cashflow and balance sheet forecasting
- Bank/Cash reconciliations
- VAT
- Manage credit control processes, assessing customers and ensuring action plans are in place for overdue debts
- Be responsible for Period end processing, and liaising with the external accountant to ensure accuracy
- Manage payroll process
- Prepare and post monthly journals
- Lead a small finance team, whilst also providing training and support to relevant stakeholders across the business on systems and improvements.
- Audit procedures to maximise efficiency
- Effective Financial Planning to ensure deadlines adhered to.
- Use experience and knowledge to identify anomalies and errors - provide solutions and improvements
- Work closely with senior stakeholders in the business to provide commercial advice and analysis on financial performance
- Adhere to financial regulations
Working hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm and Fridays 07:30am-4pm Office Based
Requirements
- Fully qualified Accountant (ACCA/ CIMA / ACA)
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager in a commercial business environment
- Strong understanding of business operations
- Positive, Proactive and Enthusiastic attitude
- Attention to detail is essential
- Excellent organisational skills and time management
- Experience with Sage 50 or similar platforms
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
