Management Accountant (1st step from practice) | Chesterfield region | £35,000 - £40,000 + benefits

The Opportunity

Are you looking to make the step to industry from practice? You are maybe operating at semi senior level but looking to join an SME where you can really add value, contribute and see the full picture.

You’ll be joining a growing SME - reporting directly to the approachable and experienced head of finance.

The role is varied and interesting - giving you exposure to all aspects of monthly management accounting, reconciliations, P&L analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cashflows, MI and KPI reporting...

It’s a great platform for someone looking to make the transition.

You have most likely completed AAT (or a degree) and have begun ACCA (or CIMA maybe). The business will provide full study support if you are looking to complete the qualification.

You’ll enjoy a great balance of autonomy coupled with support from the Head of Finance (and a portfolio FD who works with the group).

It’s a business amid change and they are investing in growth.

You’ll be site based (Chesterfield region) but with the opportunity to work from home 1 day per week initially (perhaps 2 days down the line as your experience and understanding develops).

Required:

• Experience of monthly accounting routines (accruals and prepayments, balance sheet recs, bank recs, VAT returns etc).
• AAT and studying toward ACCA ideally.
• Ability to work toward deadlines.
• Confident analytical skills and good understanding of Excel.
• Confidence when discussing financial information with a non finance audience (including the MD of the group and the wider senior management team).
• Ability to provide guidance to the Finance Assistant.
• A hands on approach - happy to drill down into the nitty gritty.
