Finance Manager | Fast Growth FMCG Business | Cotswolds
Harmonic are proud to be working alongside an exciting FMCG business on the hire of their first Finance Manager to join the team. Only a few years into their journey they have been scaling up rapidly and are now looking to build out their finance function further.
Working as part of a values driven business, the Finance Manager will work alongside an experienced Finance Director to help bring their current finance function in-house from an out-sourced function. This change has come about due to fantastic commercial growth having seen the business scale 100% YoY over the past 3 years with turnover getting to c. £7 million turnover with plans for this to double in the next 48 months. This has come around through building out a high-quality product which use high quality and locally sourced ingredients to create a product which has taken the market by storm.
The Finance Manager role is a broad one and once the initial challenge of brining the function in-house is done this role will work alongside the Finance Director and Operations teams to ensure the accurate reporting of the budgets and forecasts as well as serve as a pillar to setting the tone of finance and accounting across the business.
The role is based at their production site alongside a much wider team. The culture of the business is non-corporate and fun. The team are often working on new products and exciting developments, so they see lots of value in this role being in 4 days a week.
The Role
- Bring the month-end and management accounting process in-house and own the production and completion of these tasks (some of the day-to-day might well remain outsourced if you wish)
- Establish forecasting and budgeting processes across the business
- Build improved financial modelling to support decision making alongside the finance director
- Build out and continuously improve financial analysis looking at particular product lines and geographical regions (establishing detailed FP&A)
- Produce and present Board Packs with insightful analysis to improve decision making
- Build relationships with Sales, marketing and Product teams establishing KPI analysis
- Improve stock and inventory reporting
- Implement robust controls and prepare the business for the first audit
- Own the production of statutory accounts (IFRS)
- Support the business as they expand into new markets ensuring tax compliance and the setup of regional entities
- Support on future fundraising rounds (producing Investor decks)
- Extensive ad-hoc projects to drive growth
What our client would like to see:
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Either studying or fully qualified ACCA, ACA, AAT, ICAS or CIMA
- Experience with Stock Accounting would be preferable (this can also include working with Stock in an accounting practice)
- Mix of strong technical accounting experience as well as support or exposure to budgets / forecasts and FP&A would be ideal.
- Managerial experience, this role will manage a Finance Assistant who will support with the AP (Accounts Payable) and AR work (Accounts Receivable).
What we would like to see:
- Previous experience in manufacturing, food, drinks, retail, apparel or consumer goods would be beneficial
- Passion for high quality products and the linkup between accounting and manufacturing
- Desire to be part of a Fast Growth SME and environment where there is a lot of growth and development
- Experience of Xero would be beneficial
Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 + benefits
