About the role:
This role sits within the Firmwide Business Partnering team at the centre of Finance. The team delivers financial analysis and commercial insight to drive decision making for firmwide stakeholders that do not sit within the traditional LoS construct, helping to drive the overall financial direction and strategy for the firm, enhancing cohesion across stakeholder groups. The team directly supports firmwide stakeholders including the UK Finance Partner, Executive Board, Clients & Markets Executive, Regional Leaders and Leaders of Industries.
As a Finance Manager within the Firmwide Business Partnering team, you will play a crucial role in advising and assisting cross-Line of Service (xLoS) stakeholders on financial performance, strategic decisions, and opportunities for sustainable and profitable growth. This position involves close collaboration with various stakeholders, including Finance Directors, business leaders, and PwC's Centres of Excellence.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Strategic Analysis: Deliver insightful analysis on firmwide results and strategic priorities to inform decision-making. Identify scenarios, risks, and opportunities around business performance.
- Forward-Looking Reporting: Provide forward-looking, insight-driven reporting for the business. Offer commentary to help plan, prepare, and manage future performance.
- Financial Planning: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling incorporating internal and external data. Analyze the impact on financial and non-financial KPIs.
- Financial Year End: Contribute to year-end preparations and analyze management accounts. Assist in external reporting requirements to the Financial Reporting Council.
- AI-Driven Analysis: Leverage AI-driven financial analysis tools for predictive analytics, optimizing decision-making, and improving the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.
- Market Insight: Offer in-depth knowledge of markets where the firm operates, providing insights for investment and growth opportunities.
- Strategic Projects: Act as a key participant in firmwide strategic projects, providing finance expertise.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with specialist pillars within the Firmwide Business Partnering team to provide firmwide insight. Drive continuous improvement to align deliverables with the firm's financial objectives.
- Leadership and Development: Mentor, coach, and manage junior team members, fostering growth within the immediate and wider Firmwide Business Partnering team.
Essential skills and experience:
- A relevant finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Commercially minded with the ability to develop a deep business understanding
- Able to demonstrate application of accounting standards, including IFRS 15
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with good attention to detail
- Action orientated and a self-starter
- Focused on continuous improvement in all areas of their work
- A strong relationship builder who builds trust in their key stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Appreciation of macroeconomics and external business environment
- Intermediate to advanced excel/Google sheets
- Technology enabled mindset and able to identify and drive change through technology adoption
