BCFT was established in April 2023, accountable to Bradford Council but run operationally independent from it. This role offers a unique opportunity to be a part of establishing a new organisation, instigate change and make a real, tangible difference.

Annual Leave: Starts at 31 days and rises to max of 34 days with service. (plus, public holidays).

Finance brings several enabling functions together, which aim to support colleagues in their work with streamlined systems, processes and facilities, as well as establishing performance and risk management tools and measurement.
About the Role
Responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. Maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, analysing financial data, and providing recommendations to improve financial processes. Producing financial records and statements to be provided to the council as part of their year-end processes. About You
• CCAB Qualified
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficient in using SAP, Power BI and strong MS Excel skills
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with public sector accounting and reporting standards is advantageous.
• Experience of accounting principles, practices and regulations within a medium sized public company, (ideally a Childrens Trust).
• Experience of local government accounting will also be desirable as the company is 100% owned by Bradford council and financial records and statements will also need to be provided to the council as part of their year-end processes.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The job role may require working outside of normal office hours to attend meetings.
The job role may require travel between different local sites.
