Financial Accountant

I am exclusively working on a Financial Accountant post based in Nottingham for a Public Sector Organisation. This is a role suitable for a strong technical Accountant, looking more exposure to different areas of Financial Accounting.

My client is based in Nottingham, an NHS organisation located just off the M1 near Nuthall, easily commutable from Nottingham, Derby and Mansfield. The successful candidate can expect to be joining an organisation during an exciting period of growth that can support their development.

Description

The Financial Accountant will report directly to the Head of Finance. Duties of the Financial Accountant include:

• Enhancing the day to day activities of the Financial Accounting department including the development of processes for producing the monthly and quarterly financial returns
• Assist the Head of Finance with internal and external audit reports
• Lead on the Charitable Fund Accounting
• Support on internal financial controls
• Support on the production of monthly financial accounting
• Manage cash and agreement of balances on the annual accounts
• Support aspects of the year end accounts

Profile

The successful candidate will:

• Be an ACCA/CIMA/ACA studier and be towards the end of their qualification
• Have experience and full knowledge of Financial Accounting
• Have demonstrated a commitment to professional development
• Have a solid working knowledge of International and UK Financial Reporting Standards
• Have experience with Capital Accounting
• Have excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal
• Have an ability to resolve complex issues and have an analytical mind
• Be able to commute into the office full time

Job Offer

The successful candidate can expect an equivalent starting salary between £38,000-42,000 + an immediate start + free, onsite parking + access to local government pension scheme + 35 days annual leave
