Our client, a well-established, growing, highly reputable organisation in the east Northamptonshire area providing essential professional education services to a wide variety of students, is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their efficient main finance team, based at their Northamptonshire site. The role is responsible for leading a team of finance assistants and ensuring all monthly processes and reports are complete and in accordance with required time frames.
As the Financial Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Manage, support and mentor direct reports
- Review processes and procedures and improve if needed
- Produce and maintain cashflows
- Support production of financial year end accounts and statutory returns
- Support Deputy Director of Finance with ad-hoc requirements
For this position we are looking for someone who has had experience in managing a small team, ideally with examples of training/development. Someone who has a firm understanding of completing month end processes within a time-pressured environment. This person will be highly IT literate, with good excel capabilities. You will require confident communication skills as you will be tasked with working alongside senior stakeholders in the organisation, as well as setting an example in leading your team successfully.
This individual will also be self-motivated and pro-active, with the ability to work towards business deadlines. Someone who will be able to demonstrate how they can maintain and nurture relationships across the organisation. We are ideally looking for someone who is part qualified in the ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualifications, preferably in the finalist stages of their studies.
