Role mission:
We have an exciting, newly created opportunity for a meticulous Financial Accountant taking on responsibility for maintaining our financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. As Financial Accountant, you would also prepare financial statements, analyse financial data and provide recommendations to management.
This role reports to the Group Financial Controller but involves working closely with other departments to ensure the timely and accurate production of accounts. In this role you will be working closely with the finance team delivering full month end close for relevant entities. You will also be assisting the Finance Manager on all finance functions as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data Including fixed assets, prepayments and payroll liabilities
- Post month-end journals, accruals and deferrals, monthly production and review of schedules including revenue recognition
- Support on the preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns
- Manage year-end audit processes, liaising with external auditors and providing necessary documentation
- Coordinate and process payroll run for all locations, review and reconcile all payroll reports once produced
- Work with external accountants for managing statutory compliance requirements
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting and contribute to automation projects
- Manage and oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards and ensure compliance
- Any other ad-hoc tasks required to ensure the smooth operation of the finance department.
What we’re looking for:
- ACCA Qualified
- Proven experience in a technical accounting role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations relevant to financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel and in the use of accounting software
- Excellent analytical skills, detail-oriented and organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
