Our client, a market-leading organisation with a highly esteemed reputation, is currently seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join their growing team on a full-time, permanent basis at their head office in South Devon.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for a diverse range of financial operations and processes, supporting complex monthly routines, process development, accurate reporting, and actively promoting the company’s core values of ethics and inclusivity.
We are seeking a candidate with exceptional analytical skills to interpret complex financial data, provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making, and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration across departments.
The responsibilities:
- Finalise the monthly management accounting process, including consolidated management accounts.
- Responsible for external reporting to stakeholders, including banks.
- Provide technical accounting expertise to the business.
- Support CFO in reporting against projects, cost budgets, and business units, and provide ad-hoc financial analysis.
- Collaborate with Financial Controller to fulfil audit requirements and prepare statutory accounts.
- Support and manage cash flow and purchase management.
- Take ownership of complex monthly accounting routines, including channel cost allocations, accruals, prepayments, and internal cost accounting.
- Assist Financial Controller in day-to-day financial operations and provide cover for team members as needed.
- Maintain team processes, contribute to process development, monitor financial system accuracy, and collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives across business units.
The candidate:
- ACCA/ACA part or recently qualified.
- Strong knowledge of FRS102.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle time-sensitive deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on with the team.
- Exceptional presentation skills, both written and verbal, with confidence to communicate effectively to various audiences, including board level and external stakeholders.
