Join Close Brothers Asset Finance & Leasing Finance Team where you will support the Finance Manager (FM) with monthly financial control and reporting deliverables for existing businesses.
The Asset and Leasing division is made up of 16 different business that span different industries from transport and industrial equipment to specialist structured finance. The businesses provide the UK SME market with finance support over a variety of products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Accounting
- Responsible for preparation of AF&L liquidity including but not limited to:
- Preparation & analysis of funding and cashflow data
- Understanding business specific cashflows to compile effective funding graphs with which funding can be booked
- Complete liquidity regulatory reports
- Maintain and own cashflow reconciliation and sign off file for FD review (WD8)
- Interest calculations & interest expense forecasting
- Prepare all monthly deliverables ensuring these are completed to high standards and within deadlines:
- Month end process ensuring all monthly accounting is completed by closing of the ledgers by WD5 covering; payroll and commissions; funding costs; IFRS 16
- Ensure costs are recorded accurately and allocated correctly with variance analysis explanations for submission by
- WD-4 for payroll and commission expense
- WD-2 for funding and WD3 for other costs
- WD3 for other items
- Liaise with the business on queries relating to income and expenses at month-end
Regulatory Reporting
- Preparation of Liquidity related returns as above (PRA110, NSFR, FSA 017 and Basis Risk)
- Aid with preparation of quarterly FINREP for review and approval by the FC and FD
- Implement checks and controls, including cross-checks between returns
- Work with the Group Regulatory team to ensure accuracy of data, appropriateness of assumptions and definitions employed.
Financial Reporting
- Aid with preparation of information requested by the Tax team for tax calculations
- Aid with preparation of the Interim and Year-end Financial Reporting Packs
- Aid with preparation of statutory accounts
Other responsibilities
- Support AF&L central workstreams to identify best practices and ensure that best practices are implemented across the teams
- Challenge existing processes, identify and implement improvements to achieve better quality, efficiency
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU ARE/HAVE:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and demonstrates a proactive approach
- Ability to dive deep into data, existing processes, people and technology challenges to identify issues and opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple workstreams
- Ability to link business activities to financial control
- Fluent English required (verbal/ written)
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Strong Excel skills (V-look-ups, Pivot tables, Index- Match)
- Microsoft Office
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ARE/HAVE:
- Knowledge of Asset Finance business
- Experience of SAP (ECC and BEX)
- Experience of Alteryx
