As a Financial Accountant, you will be an integral part of the finance department, responsible for managing and overseeing the financial health of the business. As the ideal candidate, you will have a strong background in accounting, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to contribute to strategic financial planning.
In this permanent, full time role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Provide insightful commentary on financial performance and variances.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor annual budgets.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and variance analysis.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements.
- Coordinate and support external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Implement recommendations from audit findings to strengthen internal controls.
