Financial Accountant

Jenson Fisher are delighted to be partnering with our high profile client based in Dundee City Centre to recruit a permanent, fully qualified (ACCA, CA, ICAS or equivalent) Financial Accountant. our client are a forward thinking business who are looking to recruit a confident long-term hire who can contribute to their continued success whilst also supporting the company to achieve their strategic objectives.
As a Financial Accountant, you will be an integral part of the finance department, responsible for managing and overseeing the financial health of the business. As the ideal candidate, you will have a strong background in accounting, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to contribute to strategic financial planning.
In this permanent, full time role, your key responsibilities will include:

• Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Provide insightful commentary on financial performance and variances.
• Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor annual budgets.
• Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and variance analysis.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns in compliance with relevant regulations.
• Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate and support external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Implement recommendations from audit findings to strengthen internal controls.

To be successful you will be in possession of your full accounting qualification and have proven experience as a Financial Accountant, preferably in a fast paced working environment. Naturally you will have a strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards and consider yourself a strong user of financial software and Microsoft Excel.
