Financial Accountant - Part-Time

About Us:Winetraders (UK) Ltd is an importer & distributor of quality Italian, Spanish & German wines based in Long Hanborough, Witney. We're on the lookout for a talented and qualified Financial Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis, 3 days a week or equivalent hours. As a vibrant player in the wine trade, we're committed to bringing the best quality estate wines to our customers and are excited to welcome a detail-oriented individual to help steer our financial ship.

Main Responsibilities:

• Revision and analysis of company performance for quality management reports.
• Interpretation of financial information and provision of commercial commentary.
• Development of process improvements for streamlined reporting.
• Weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting on profitability and overall business position.
• Monthly payroll preparation, HMRC, and pension submissions.
• Submission of quarterly VAT returns and updating/reconciling bank accounts.
• Creation and maintenance of pricing models and customer price lists.

Main Tasks:

• Performance Analysis: Oversee the revision and analysis of company performance to produce quality management reports.
• Financial Interpretation: Interpret financial information and provide commercial commentary.
• Process Improvement: Develop process improvements to streamline reporting.
• Reporting: Responsible for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting on profitability and overall business position. Preparation of monthly management accounts & commission on sales.
• Expenditure Insights: Provide insights into company expenditure.
• Payment Processing: Process payments to producers and suppliers, manage cash flow to meet commitments.
• Payroll: Monthly payroll preparation, HMRC, and pension submissions.
• Tax Compliance: Submission of quarterly VAT returns and updating/reconciling bank accounts.
• Stock Reconciliation: Monthly stock reconciliation and valuation.
• Annual Accounts: Preparation of statutory annual accounts and submission to HMRC and Companies House.
• Pricing Models: Creation and maintenance of pricing models and customer price lists.
• Budgeting: Preparation of budgets, forecasting and financial modelling.
• Contract & Grant Management: Negotiation and management of grant applications and contracts with suppliers/contractors (e.g., utilities).

Reporting to: Founder & Chair / Managing Director

Qualifications:

• ACA /ACCA Qualified

The successful candidate must have:

Proven proficiency in SAGE accounting software

Be confident in using Excel to manipulate and analyse data

Right to Work in the UK

Salary Range: up to GBP50- 60k FTE / GBP30-GBP36k pro-rata - commensurate with experience.
