This Financial Accountant role is to work for a well known Sheffield business that operates in the insurance and health and wellbeing sector.
Located in the city centre, you will benefit from hybrid working, and you will be able to work from home for up to four days each week.
You will work within the Financial Reporting Team, and will oversee a number of key areas including: investment reporting, Solvency II reporting and international regulatory reporting.
Responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing internal investment reporting and account management
- Monthly performance reporting and quarterly investment allocation reporting to the Investment Committee as well as managing relationships with investment partners
- Managing relationships with international advisors for reporting of operations in non-core countries of operation (including Spain, Italy, Switzerland) including financial performance, VAT and corporation tax reporting
- Overseeing the monthly compilation of the UK management accounts for a specific division
- Ensure accurate recording of P&L and balance sheet items
- Compilation of the annual statutory accounts, working with tax advisors for corporate tax reporting
- Prepare and submit annual and half-yearly Solvency II / Solvency UK reports for the insurance business, ensuring ongoing compliance with Solvency II / Solvency UK requirements
Key skills / qualifications:
- Fully qualified ACCA / ACA
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Strong IT skills including Excel
