Financial Accountant

Robert Half Finance and Accounting are currently looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join a growing Business in Central Bristol. For the right person, the client is offering a very competitive:

Up to £50,000 plus excellent benefits

Responsibilities:

• Oversee control accounts, reconciling, calculating prepayments and accruals
• Support the Finance Assistant and oversee transactions
• Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Maintain the general ledger by recording and reconciling financial transactions accurately and timely
• Managing monthly and quarterly VAT returns for the UK and EU
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and accurate recording of transactions
• Production of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting including P&L and balance sheet
• Conduct variance analysis, trend analysis, and other financial assessments to identify areas of improvement or potential risks
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, providing documentation and explanations as needed
• Utilise financial software and systems effectively to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Other ad hoc tasks as required

Person specification:

• Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent qualified by experience
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organisation and ability to supervise
• Working knowledge of profit & loss and balance sheet reporting
• Process-driven and effective in process improvement
• Team player
• Excellent IT skills including MS Excel: min LOOKUPS, Pivot Tables
