You’ll take responsibility for the integrity of the financial statements and the maintenance of robust, effective controls. You’ll partner with departments around the business to focus on cost control and accurate planning for spend and projects.
Please note the preference for this role is to be based at our Head Office in Cornwall, but candidates from other parts of the South West (UK) will be considered, with weekly travel to Head Office.
You’ll help us by:
- Being responsible for the integrity of the financial and management accounting processes for the group
- Financial management and oversight of stock across all channels
- Promoting best practice and maintaining a strong risk and controls environment
- Working closely with colleagues within the wider finance team and throughout the business
- Liaising with external advisors and internal experts
- Supporting the preparation of the annual corporation tax return and related tax administration and compliance
The skills you’ll be sharing with the team:
You’ll be fully qualified (ACA, CIMA or ACCA or equivalent) with a strong accounting and/or audit background. We would value experience of financial systems maintenance and development, including financial configuration and database architecture.
With proven experience of managing and developing a high performing team together with managing workflows, you will also be experienced in engaging with and presenting to senior level stakeholders up to and including Board level.
You’ll have strong analytical skills, a process driven mindset and will be confident in using your influence to drive strategic decision making.
Experience of managing stock would be useful, as would a background in retail, however we welcome applications from established professionals looking to move out of professional practice and into a commercial role.
