Financial Accounting Manager

Based in Tamworth, Staffordshire our client is looking for a Financial Accountant to join the team as Financial Accounting Manager on a permanent basis, with a minimum 2 days per week required in the office.

This role would suit an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant who is looking for their 1st or 2nd role out of practice and has experience working for an FMCG/ multisite business, to be responsible for the overall Financial Accounting for the business.

The company are a prominent global retail and logistics business with over 40,000 employees, 1500 locations across 25 countries and a turnover of over £1billion which makes this the ideal business for someone who wants to develop their career.

The successful individual will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with previous experience of managing a team. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate across the board, including non-finance colleagues. Excellent analytical and Excel skills are essential. Experience of US GAAP and SOX is desired, but not essential.

Duties will include:

• Responsible for processing and reviewing month end close postings
• Responsible for maintaining detailed balance sheet reconciliations for UK company
• Involvement in the production and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packs for UK, with variance analysis
• Involvement in the preparation and timely submission of monthly US GAAP accounting adjustments
• Involvement in the preparation of SOX control compliance during close processes, ensuring all submissions are completed accurately, on time and in adherence to policy.
• Responsible for responding to queries from external and internal auditors as necessary
• Responsible for resolving VAT and Corporation Tax enquiries and analysis.
• Ensures the integrity of financial data provided to other areas of the business
• Improvement of financial controls and monthly close procedures
• Build, develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues
• Lead and develop a team of 2 direct reports
