Two exciting opportunities have arisen within the Bedford Borough Council finance team for AAT- qualified Financial Analysts. Bedford Borough Council is one of the fastest growing unitary authorities and the Finance team is a partner to the service: driving decisions upfront and improving performance. We are now looking for motivated and enthusiastic finance professionals to be part of our team.
We are looking for two Financial Analysts – one in each of:
- Environment

In the Environment role, you will be part of the team working with budget holders in areas including Parks & Open Spaces, Events, Waste collection and disposal with the information they need to forecast, set budgets and investigate and resolve queries using the Agresso finance system.
In the Schools role, you will be part of the team working with schools across Bedford to maintain and enhance their budgeting, forecasting and general Finance processes. You will be required to investigate and resolve queries from internal and external customers.
Employees at Bedford benefit from a generous annual leave entitlement of 27 days, rising to 32 days depending on length of local government service. The team work flexibly both in terms of hours and place. Current flexible working arrangements in the team include condensed hours (37 hours over 4 days), 9 day fortnight. You will be able to work from home, but will be required to come into the office once a month as a minimum, dependent on business needs, though there is the option to work in the office every day if desired.
The roles are full-time (37 hours) and permanent, though applications for part-time work will be considered.
