Financial Controller

An exciting opportunity has opened for a Financial Controller at a very well-established business based in North-Kent. This position will report directly to the Managing Director and is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a similar position looking for the next step in their career.

Duties Include but are not limited to:

• Preparing P&L statements and monthly closing and accounting reports
• Compile and analyse financial information to prepare entries to accounts
• Establish, maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting procedures
• Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy
• Prepare and analyse reporting information for budget, revenue, expense, payroll, cost, variances and more
• Analyse revenue and expenditure trends
• Resolve accounting discrepancies
• Recommend, develop and maintain financial databases and accounts software systems
• Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports
• Interact with internal and external audits and auditing queries
• Develop the annual operating budget
• Provide accounting policy orientation
• Manage and supervise finance staff and provide necessary training sessions
• Compile weekly KPIs
• Control cashflow short and long term
• Select and authorise payments for AP in line with cashflow and payment terms
• Compile and reconcile VAT returns
• Payroll duties

The ideal candidate will:

• Have proven experience in a similar position
• Be Qualified, minimum AAT.
• Have an excellent understanding of General Accounting Principles
• Have meticulous attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Have a proactive can-do attitude and not be afraid to get stuck in and take on any task
